1. Create a Meta app
In Meta for Developers, create an app of type Business and add the WhatsApp product. Link it to your Meta Business portfolio.
2. Add and verify your phone number
Add the business phone number you want customers to message, verify it by SMS or voice call, and set a display name that matches your brand.
3. Create a permanent access token
The temporary token expires in 24 hours. Create a system user in Business Settings, give it access to your WhatsApp account, and generate a permanent token with the whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management permissions.
4. Connect the webhook
In AnjokWA Bot, open WhatsApp API, paste the phone number ID, WhatsApp Business Account ID and token, then copy the callback URL and verify token into Meta's WhatsApp configuration and subscribe to the messages field.
5. Test and go live
Send a test message from our screen, message your number from a personal phone, and watch it arrive in the team inbox. Publish your chatbot and it starts answering.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Cloud API different from the On-Premises API?
Yes. The Cloud API is hosted by Meta, so you do not run servers for it. Meta has been retiring the On-Premises API in favour of Cloud.
Why does my webhook not verify?
The verify token must match exactly, the callback URL must be HTTPS and publicly reachable, and your server must echo the hub.challenge value.
